Program usage logging keeps a record of which programs users are accessing and for how long
These reports can prove useful in determining how a computer is being used. At home they
can help identify homework distractions and in the office they can help reduce employee
distractions

A program is considered to be active when it is the foreground program

The time stamps and durations recorded refer to the periods when the program is the active
program, meaning the user is currently using the program. Programs running in the background
are not recorded as active
